IF PRE-REGISTRATION IS CLOSED OR IF MY PREFERRED COMPETITION GROUP IS FULL, CAN I GET ON A WAIT LIST?
Pre-Registration Closes; If you attempt to register the day prior to an event, pre-registration will be closed BUT we will hold a limited number of entry spots open for purchase onsite each event day, so arrive early to reserve your competition slot. Doors open at 3 P.M. Friday and 9 A.M. Saturday.

Cancellations will be filled from the wait list up to seven days prior to each event. Less than seven days before the event, any available slots will be filled at the event.

[top]

WHAT IS ACCEPTED AS PAYMENT?
Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted for advance registrations. Cash is also accepted if you sign up at the event. Sorry, no personal checks or Discover cards.

[top]

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR PARTICIPATION?
You must be at least 18 years of age, with a valid driver’s license, to participate in any of the drive course activities. You must be at least 16* years old  for Karting (*your parents or legal guardian must sign your waiver). No I.D. needed to cheer on your buddies, visit the displays and exhibits or just take it all in. Remember, there is no General Admission fee!

[top]

CAN I USE A DRIVER’S LICENSE THAT JUST EXPIRED?
Only if you have a temporary license or a valid extension. Otherwise, you must have a driver’s license valid at the time of the event. And, yes, you will be asked to show your license when you arrive. Unfortunately, no grace periods are permitted or accepted.

[top]

IF I FORGET MY LICENSE OR MY LICENSE HAS EXPIRED, CAN I GET A REFUND?
Sorry, but if you arrive at the event without your driver’s license, or it is no longer valid, we cannot give you a refund. If you forget to come to the event (remember, Rev It Up is on Fridays and Saturdays this year) …well, that doesn’t qualify for refund either.

[top]

CAN I TAKE A PASSENGER WITH ME WHEN I COMPETE?
Sorry, no passengers allowed on any of the competition drive courses. You can bring anyone you want to the event, there are plenty of activities and driving opportunities for them as well (as long as they meet the 18 year minimum driving age requirement and present a valid driver’s), but once you put the helmet on, you're on your own. Solo!

[top]

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Rain or shine, we'll be there. Occasionally weather conditions will require our Chief Steward to halt competition for a brief period while we wait for the storm to pass especially if lightning conditions exist. Lighting Fast is good, lighting from the sky isn't.

[top]

IF I AM UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, CAN I PARTICIPATE WITH A PARENT’S PERMISSION?
Sorry, no.  All drivers must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the event, with a valid driver’s license. You can participate in Karting if you're at least 16 years old, provided of course, that your parent or legal guardian signs your liability waiver.

[top]

CAN I USE A CANADIAN OR OTHER INTERNATIONAL DRIVER’S LICENSE?
Yes. All valid driver's licenses are acceptable for competition and racing, but only legal residents of the U.S. are eligible to win the RIU prizes.

[top]

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL? IS THE REGISTRATION FEE REFUNDABLE?
Yes. A full refund will be provided for cancellations received at least seven days prior to the event. Sorry, but if you give us less than seven days, we cannot give a refund or substitute another individual into your reservation.

[top]

HOW DO I CANCEL MY REGISTRATION?
Go to your Competitor's Profile. You will need your confirmation number to gain access to your profile. Select the 'Cancel Reservation' option and follow the simple steps.

[top]

CAN I CHANGE MY RESERVATION DATE OR TIME?
Yes, based on space availability. Go to your Competitor's Profile. You will need your confirmation number to gain access to your profile. Select the 'Change Reservation' option and follow the simple steps.

[top]

CAN SOMEONE ELSE ATTEND IN MY PLACE?
Sorry, fees and reservation slots are non-transferable. If you cannot attend and it is more than seven days before your event, please cancel your reservation for a full refund. Less than seven days, we cannot give a refund.

[top]

CAN I BRING FRIENDS OR RELATIVES?
Definitely, please do. All are welcome! Everyone has to check in at Registration upon arrival. If your friends or relatives decide they’d like to compete, they are welcome to do so if there are any open competition slots available. Remember, they must be 18 years old or older, present a valid driver's license – and they'll have to provide a credit card or cash to pay the $25 competition fee. If they don’t want to compete there are plenty of other activities they can participate in and there is no general admission charge!

[top]

IS REV IT UP® ONLY FOR EXPERIENCED DRIVERS? OR IS IT PURELY AN AMATEUR EVENT?
Actually, it's both. There are two competitor classes for drivers with on-track experience and there are two competitor classes for novices – those with no competition experience or skills. As a competitor, you'll be asked specific questions in your online registration regarding your past performance driving experience in order to place you in the appropriate competition group. Telling us that you are a Novice despite the fact that you test cars for Team McLaren really won’t help you in any way. Classes are simply a way to group folks. Remember, regardless of class, the highest national scorer wins the top prize!

[top]

WHO QUALIFIES TO WIN A CAR?
If you have the skills to achieve the best score, you do. Anyone, in any class, has an equal chance to win the weekend event at a Rev It Up® competition. Really. That’s what is so cool about the whole competition. If you’ve got the highest score nationally and you're a legal resident of the U.S., you win a car.

[top]

CAN I BRING MY OWN HELMET?
Sorry, only the official Rev It Up® helmets provided to you at the event are permitted.

[top]

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS?
We suggest you wear comfortable clothes. We recommend rubber-soled shoes. You cannot wear open-toe shoes or sandals while driving at Rev It Up®.

[top]

WILL EVERYONE BE DRIVING THE SAME KIND OF CAR?
Yes. Although you’ll have an opportunity to drive a variety of cars at the event, all competitors will drive identically equipped cars in the timed and scored racing laps.

[top]

WILL MY AWESOME MANUAL TRANSMISSION SKILLS GIVE ME A HUGE ADVANTAGE?
No. To level both the playing and the racing fields, all tracks will have cars equipped with GM automatic transmissions. If you absolutely have to drive a stick, one of the high performance Skills Clinics will offer you a choice - a Cobalt SS (auto) or a Cobalt SS Supercharged (manual).

[top]

ARE THE CARS MODIFIED?
The vehicles used for the competition driving have slight modifications to ensure safety, durability and improve handling specifically for this event. Don’t expect an Indy car. Do expect as much traction and acceleration as you can handle.

[top]

CAN I DRIVE MY OWN CAR ON THE COMPETITION COURSE?
No. On the track, everyone will be driving identically set up new Chevy Cobalt SS models.

[top]

WILL I GET ANY PRACTICE LAPS BEFORE I’M SCORED?
All paid entrants will have access to three separate dynamic Driving Skills courses, which include the practice track. We strongly encourage you attend these Driving Skills courses so you'll know what to expect when you get to the competition phase of the event. We also recommend that you attend the instructional classroom sessions as well. If you have time, you can test your skills on the Karting track, too.

[top]

DOES THE FASTEST TIME WIN?
Not necessarily. Your adjusted time equals your actual time around the course plus any penalties assessed for hitting course markers and for other infractions as defined in the official Rules and Regulations. Your score is a product of how close your time is to the Pro Driver Index. The winner will be driver with the highest score after all penalties. Actually, the winner will probably have no penalties whatsoever. The scoring system will be explained in more detail during your Rules & Regs briefing at the event.

WHAT’S THE STORY WITH THE CORVETTE SHOOTOUT?
The exciting Corvette Shootout is a new element to Rev It Up™ in 2007. Competing in the Cobalts gets you an official time/score (and glory). The select few who post the top times/scores of the day (10 Friday, 25 Saturday) compete at the end of the day in the Corvette Shootout. Same course as the Cobalts, but at night. Everyone starts with a clean sheet and an equal chance to win – two laps per driver, after our pro sets the index, of course. Fastest time/score of each weekend’s Corvette Shootouts determines the Rev It Up™ 2007 Event Champion and takes home the best prizes. If that winner’s Corvette Shootout score tops the other five individual Event Champions’ scores, they’ll be cruisin’ in a 2008 Corvette!

[top]

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE IN THE CORVETTE SHOOTOUT?
You should have a general idea of your competitive standing during the day at the event (leading times are posted on the big board). We also have a text-messaging system to alert you (though qualifier notification is not guaranteed). The real answer is to be around the event at 8:30pm, when we’ll know for sure who the final Corvette Shootout qualifiers are! Even if you miss the cut, you’ll want to stick around to watch the exciting action under the lights.

[top]

WHAT IF I BEAT THE TIME OF THE REV IT UP® PRO DRIVER?
In three years and 48 days of competition, that’s only happened once.  But in case it does – and you are the next real deal – you will be awarded a very special prize.

[top]

HOW WILL YOU MAKE THE EVENTS FAIR AND SIMILAR FOR THE RACERS?
At each event we have the pro driver run the course and set the time to beat.  In fact, as track conditions change, we have the course re-run and the time reset periodically throughout the day.  Everyone drives the same identically prepared cars.  Same cars.  Same gear.  Same helmets.  The only variable is you!

[top]

IS THE EVENT SAFE?
Very. It is also very exciting. If you have never driven as close to your limits as you can with a great car on a closed course, you will be positively amazed.

[top]

HOW LONG WILL I BE AT THE EVENT?
That's up to you. If all you do is attend the Skills Clinics and compete, figure on about three hours. However, given all the other things we have for you to do and see at each Rev It Up event, chances are you'll want to spend most of the day there having fun.

[top]

CAN I GET AN INSURANCE DISCOUNT FOR TAKING ALL THIS INSTRUCTION?
Check with your insurer to find out. Credit for performance driving schools and events vary from one company to another.

[top]

CAN I COMPETE MORE THAN ONCE DURING THE WEEKEND?
No. Participation is limited to one competition per weekend. There is no general admission is fee so you're welcome back to cheer on your buddies on other days.

[top]

WHAT IS REV IT UP?
Rev It Up is the world's largest performance driving school and national racing competition. It's a one-of-a-kind program that lets you be a race car driver for a day.

[top]

WHAT TIME DO DOORS OPEN?
Friday 3 P.M.  to 10 P.M. , Saturday 9 A.M. to 10 P.M.
